Maui's beaches are stunning, but the Hawaiian sun can be intense, and beach days with a child require some special preparation. Here are a few must-haves to keep your little ones comfortable and safe:
Child-Safe/Reef-Safe Sunscreen and Sun Protective Clothes
The most important thing is to shield your child from the sun. Bring a wide-brimmed hat, child-safe sunscreen, and UV-blocking sunglasses. You'll also want a lightweight, long-sleeve rash guard for added protection, especially when your little one starts splashing around. You can order a unisex protective hat and child-safe sunscreen as you customize your beach equipment rental.
Beach Umbrella
You’ll need a shady spot for naps and to keep your child cool. A UV-protective umbrella is a must and is especially important on Maui where the midday sun can be very strong.
